President's Message

Hello Everyone,

We’re getting to the end of January 2012 and I’m really happy about that. How many times can you say Happy New Year? I feel that I’m repeating myself sometimes. Come January 31st- I’m really over it- Really!

I am sorry I missed the January meeting. I had a last minute obligation out of town. I want to thank Michele for taking over the reigns that night.

I understand that the Invest program was received very well by everyone. I think you can all see why we see so much value in it. If any of you can attend the annual Invest awards breakfast, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Coming up February 13th is our annual Citizens Luncheon meeting in Pinellas. We finally received the lineup of the attendees. It should be a very interesting meeting given all the directives this year to downsize the organization. They need to do this and still operate effectively and efficiently to protect the Citizens of Florida who can’t secure coverage in the voluntary market. Remember the words “Insurer of Last Resort”?

Attached is the flyer. We’ve kept the cost as low as possible as this program is open to others in the insurance industry and those that support it. It is one of our goals to keep all those informed that serve the clients of Citizens. This includes the insurance professionals and the related vendors. We expect approximately 70 attendees this year so register as soon as possible.

Next month is our Ethics month. We’ll be back at Landers for the dinner meeting. Michele Schrotter will be leading the program.

April is all about the Health Insurance updates. There are a lot of moving parts here, it appears. Make plans to attend this meeting. Talk about an industry in transition.

Then comes May with our Legislative Update. Besides Re-Districting, there are actually other bills being submitted. PIP Reform anyone?

Also, we will have our installation of officers and our scholarship awards. It is a pretty full agenda.

So, no more Happy New Year…Back to Business…See on February 13th!
