Richard Biter

Assistant Secretary of Intermodal Systems Development

Richard has a significant track record in creating federal intermodal transportation solutions for moving people and goods efficiently, boosting productivity and job growth, and strengthening our nation's competitiveness in the global economy through efficient use of our transportation resources.

He serves as Vice-Chair of the American Assn of State Highway and Transportation Officials Special Committee on Intermodal Transportation and Economic Expansion.

He served as Principal of a transportation consulting firm and was Acting Associate Deputy Secretary and Director of the Office of lntermodalism at the U.S. Dept of Transportation.

 

Jeff Brandes

Transportation Chairman
Florida Senate

Jeff is a lifelong resident of St. Petersburg, Veteran and local businessman. He joined the Army shortly after graduating high school and received his bachelors degree in 1999. He served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2003/2004. He  joined the family lumber business in 2006. He was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2010. He was elected to the Florida Senate in 2012, reelected subsequently in 2014 and chairs the Senate Committee on Transportation. As Transportation Chairman, Brandes has been a leading voice promoting enhanced infrastructure investment and transportation innovation. Brandes and his wife Natalie have three children.

Bill Martin

Bill (Wilbur) L Martin joined Bankers as President of its insurance entities in 2011.  Bill grew up in Lake Fenton, Michigan and has a 12-year son, Will, with his wife Lisa.  A Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and licensed agent, Bill is a skier, writer, and trombone player.

Bill serves as Chairman of the Advocates for Auto and Highway Safety and as Vice-Chairman of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

He career includes roles at Progressive Insurance, Travelers, a series of startups, and Farmers Insurance.  

Steven E. Polzin, Ph.D.

Director of Mobility Policy Research
Center for Urban Transportation Research at the University of South Florida.

Dr. Polzin is on the Editorial Boards of the journal Transportation and the Journal of Public Transportation and serves on several Transportation Research Board and American Public Transportation Association Committees.  He is co-chairman of the Transportation Research Board National Transportation Data Requirements and Programs Committee. 

His research concentrates on travel behavior, public transportation, travel data analysis, and transportation decision-making. 

Dr. Polzin is a Civil Engineer with a BSCE from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Northwestern University.
