Happy Ethics Awareness Month!  The CPCU Society celebrates Ethics Awareness Month in March, and your Florida Suncoast CPCU Chapter is celebrating, too! Join us Monday March 14th at Bracken Engineering for our ethics meeting.  Our speaker is Shelton Bridges, candidate for District 10 Hillsborough County Judge. Click here for more information and to register:

In April, we travel south to Sarasota and FCCI Insurance Group.  Our speaker is Bryan Bennett, Meteorologist from the WFLA Storm Team 8 Weather Team!  (Yes, that weather guy you see on TV!!)  Bryan is an Emmy Nominated meteorologist and has been a member of the American Meteorological Society for nearly 15 years.  He was in New York when Superstorm Sandy hit. He has interesting perspectives on the American and European weather systems.  Join us to hear Bryan talk about weather patterns and what we can expect in the future!  Here is the link to register:

In May, we recap what happened in the Florida Legislative session.  The session runs from Janaury12 – March 11th.  Cindy Webster, former FAIA Chairman and President/CEO of Jack Rice Insurance, will give us the rundown of what happened in the session.  We will also meet and congratulate our 2016 scholarship winner.

We are currently looking for a Meeting Chairman and a Membership Chairman.  These two service opportunities are open to any Florida Suncoast CPCU member.  Serving is good business!  Not only will you gain skills in leadership, teambuilding, and strategic planning, you will have an excellent addition to your resume!  Your employer will appreciate your new skills!  Consider serving!  The more of us on the board, the less work for all!  Contact me for more information in the Contact Us section of the website:

In keeping with the Strategic Plans of the CPCU Society, we strive to bring you Knowledge, Empowerment, and Engagement.  Please let us know what you want to see in the future!  Your feedback is encouraged and makes us a better chapter!

In fellowship,

Michele Schrotter
